The fee for out of network psychotherapy is $150 and $200 for family therapy. The fee is in the mid-range for private practice psychotherapy. I do offer a sliding scale, however, there are limited numbers of these slots available in my schedule

Details for insurance reimbursement:
In order for you to know how much your insurance company will cover you can find out with one phone call as long as you know the questions to ask, see below:

1. Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
2. How much is my deductible?
3. After the deductible, what percentage of the fees will be covered per session?

For example, if the reimbursement rate is 75% and my session fee is $150, you would be reimbursed about $113. That means after meeting your deductible, you would be paying about $37 per session, which isn't really much different from most co-pays for in-network mental health benefits that are usually between $20-$40.
I will provide you with paid in full invoice complete with procedure code, diagnosis code, and my tax ID information for you to file with your insurance company.
The only real drawback with out-of-network benefits is the deductible and wait time for reimbursement.

Good Faith Estimate:
As of January 1, 2022 The No Surprises Act requires providers to inform their uninsured and private pay patients that they have a right to a
“Good Faith Estimate” to help them estimate the expected charges they may be billed.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
