I'm a Psychotherapist fully licensed and insured to treat clients in both New York State and Florida. I specialize in individual therapy to adults, young adults, and families. I hold a license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) and received my Masters degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
My treatment modality is psychodynamic oriented which draws attention to unconscious thoughts and feelings, as well as how our past experiences affect our present day functioning especially in our current relationships. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice which helps to find healthier ways of perceiving our selves, others, and circumstances. CBT helps to identify thoughts, feelings, behaviors and looks at how these are connected. CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way. Behavioral interventions I use teach skills for effective coping, communication, self care, and symptom relief.
Personal Bio: I travel between New York City and Florida with my partner of 30 years and our cat named Lilly. I have two adult children, son in law and future daughter in law.
In my spare time I like to read, spend time with friends & family, and cook healthy meals.
